Trenton Devils News Release
PEORIA, IL â Last night, the Trenton Titans could not get the puck past Peoria goalie Alfie Michaud. Tonight the Titans could not stem the Rivermen's offense in a 6-2 loss in front of 5,323 at Carver Arena.
Brian McCullough helped his team stake a 2-0 lead in the first period as he beat Andrew Allen through the five-hole with a snap shot at 8:41. The fifth-year pro then converted on the power play with just fifty-eight seconds remaining in the opening stanza.
Justin Meiser also added two goals of his own to help keep the Titans at bay. The rookie left wing knocked a cross-ice from Rejean Stringer into the open net for a power play goal that made the score 4-0 14:06 in the second period.
After Mathieu Brunelle broke the ice for Trenton late in the middle frame, Maiser put the Rivermen back up by four with his ninth tally of the season 1:35 into the third period.
Perfect in their last three games, the Titans penalty kill went 3-for-5 on the evening. Trenton's power play remained scoreless on the weekend, going 0-for-3. Andrew Allen stopped 29 of 35 shots as his record goes to 10-6-1. Michaud turned away 22 shots for the Rivermen.
The Titans take the ice on Friday, January 21 at 7:00pm to clash with the Reading Royals at the Sovereign Center. Tune into to 91.3 WTSR-FM to hear all of the Titans hockey action. Fans can also go to www.trentontitans.com to listen or watch live.
