
Sacramento falls to Tacoma to knot up series

WEST SACRAMENTO, CA - The Sacramento River Cats (20-19) fell to the Tacoma Rainiers (19-20) on a windy Monday night at Raley Field by the final score of 8-5, despite three RBI from Ryder Jones,.
Right-hander Jose Flores escaped the first inning unscathed, but allowed runs in each of the following four innings. Flores struck out five batters in 4.2 innings pitched, but also allowed six runs (five earned) on ten hits.
The River Cats jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but the offense went dormant until the fifth inning when Jones drove in two runners with a double and Kyle Jensen followed with an RBI single to make the score 6-5 in favor of Tacoma. The Rainiers put up two more runs in the sixth and cruised the rest of the way to an 8-5 victory.
The River Cats look to win the series tomorrow in the fifth and final game. The River Cats will send right-hander Tyler Beede (1-3, 5.63) to the mound to face off with right-hander Max Povse (1-6, 9.38). First pitch is set for 12:05 p.m. (PT). Additional Notes
- Ryder Jones went 2-for-3 with three of the River Cats' five RBI on the night for his second three-RBI game of the season.
- Sacramento stole three bases Monday night, tying the most they have had in a game this season and bringing their total to 33, which is tied for third in the PCL.
- Right-hander Connor Overton made his River Cats debut by striking out two batters and walking one in two scoreless innings of work.
