Rudkowsky Recalled by Worcester

READING, PA – The Reading Royals have announced that goaltender Cody Rudkowsky has been recalled by the Worcester IceCats.

Rudkowsky, 26, has appeared in 25 games with the Royals this season and posted a 2.18 goals against average and a .933 save percentage. He ranks third in the ECHL in these categories. His three overtime and shootout wins are also tied for the ECHL lead. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder has a record of 13-10-2 with Reading. Rudkowsky earned the Itech ECHL Saver of the Week honors for the week of November 3-9. He is responsible for the only shutout on the road by a Royals netminder this season.

Rudkowsky currently has 84 games of American Hockey League experience. He has posted a 28-30-14 mark for Worcester over the past four seasons. This is Rudkowsky's second recall to Worcester this season. He spent one game with the Icecats on December 31, 2003. The Willingdon, Alberta native is currently under contract with the St. Louis Blues.

The Reading Royals take the ice at home on Friday, January 16 against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 p.m. The first 2,000 fans through the gate receive a free Royals cap courtesy of All Star Distributing. Professional wrestler, Shawn Michaels will be in attendance signing autographs before the game. Reading battles rival Trenton on Saturday, January 17. Immix Wireless is handing out foam fingers to the first 2,000 fans in attendance and it's Nascar night in the Sovereign Center as well.
