Penner, Johnstone to Visit Quaker Steak & Lube Tuesday Evening

The Dayton Bombers have announced that goalie/Columbus Blue Jackets' farmhand Andrew Penner, who made 40 saves in the Bombers' 3-2 shootout win at Trenton on Saturday, and defenseman Alex Johnstone will be signing autographs at the Quaker Steak & Lube at 3725 Presidential Drive in Beavercreek (427-0500) on Tuesday, January 13 from 6-8 p.m.

Penner, 21, was signed as a free agent by the Columbus Blue Jackets on September 17, 2001. Johnstone, who had a goal and an assist in three Bombers' games this past week, is a fifth year professional out of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Earlier on Tuesday, defenseman Sean Connolly and play-by-play broadcaster Matt Gorsky will be extolling the virtues of reading at a "Right to Read" Week assembly at Broadway Elementary School in Tipp City. On Wednesday, January 14 (6:00-8:00 p.m.), forward Martin Paquet will extend community outreach by visiting the Rollandia Golf Center and Magic Castle in Kettering to sign autographs.

The Bombers' next two home games will be Friday, January 23, 2004 and Saturday, January 24, 2004 vs. Peoria (7:00 p.m.). On Friday, January 24, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. will make an appearance to benefit the Children's Medical Center and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. On Saturday, January 24, the Bombers will be having their 2nd Annual Beach Party Night. Fans are encouraged to dress in their favorite beach attire and enjoy discounts on margaritas.
