
Titans Raise More than $5000 for Charities

TRENTON, NJ (January 12, 2004)- The Trenton Titans announced today that they raised $5325 at their 2nd annual "Time with a Titan" Auction to benefit the Somerset Home for Temporarily Displaced Children on Saturday, January 10, 2004. The event took place on-ice after the 7:00pm game against the Dayton Bombers at Sovereign Bank Arena, as Titans fans bid on the chance to have dinner with their favorite Titans player.
Captain and defenseman Vince Williams started the evening off with bang, going to Karen Wren of Wilkes-Barre, PA for $475. It was Matt Herneisen, however, who garnered the highest bid of the evening, as he was sold for $550 to Jesse Macheda of Lawrenceville, NJ and Heather Slemmer of Fallsington, PA. As the highest bidders of the evening, Jesse and Heather also get the special bonus of being signed as a Titans' players for a day. They will get to sign their own contract, get paid an ECHL player salary, have a press release announcing their signing, be introduced with the team during a game and sit in a special bench-side seat.
The dinner with the Titans will take place on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at Triumph Brewing Company in New Hope, PA. A portion of the proceeds will also go to the Butterfly Foundation, benefiting pediatric cancer.
The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL - America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. Trenton will hit the road for a brief two-game trip against local opponents. The Titans start it up on Friday, January 16 at 7:05pm versus the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies at Boardwalk Hall. The Titans will then head west to take on the Reading Royals on Saturday, January 17 at 7:05pm. For ticket information, call a Titans Ticket Representative at 609.599.9500.
