LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 0-2-0 OVERALL RECORD: 10-21-3, 23 pts.
Jan. 6 @ Las Vegas, 5-1 Loss â A one-goal game entering the third period at Las Vegas against the Wranglers, Blair Clarance tallied Fresno's only goal with an unassisted effort before Las Vegas scored three unanswered in the third for a 5-1 win, bringing the Falcons' winless streak on the road to 11 straight.
Jan. 9 vs. Idaho, 7-4 Loss â Leading 2-1 mid-way through the first period, the Falcons then gave-up six straight goals to the Idaho Steelheads before eventually losing, 7-4, dropping the team to 2-3-0 in the New Year. Greg Bullock scored twice and Mike Sandbeck and Kory Mullin chipped in with single goals in the losing effort.
THIS WEEK'S UPCOMING GAMES
Tuesday, Jan. 13 vs. Texas, 7 p.m. â The Falcons host their third non-Pacific Division foe this season when the expansion Texas Wildcatters of the Central Division make their first visit to Save Mart Center. The game is a Carl's Jr. Two-for-Tuesday, with two-for-one coupons available at participating restaurants.
Friday, Jan. 16 vs. San Diego, 7 p.m. â The Falcons will honor their player development affiliation with the San Jose Sharks by celebrating Affiliation Night. The first 1,000 fans will receive Sharks jersey radios, San Jose mascot S.J. Sharkie will entertain fans throughout the game and Falcons players will be wearing Sharks-themed specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game in Save Mart Center's Bulldog Foundation Room courtesy of Sierra Tel Internet. All proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit Community Food Bank.
Saturday, Jan. 17 vs. Idaho, 7:30 p.m. â In the second of two doubleheaders with the Fresno State Women's Basketball Team, the Falcons host the Idaho Steelheads. Please note the original 7 p.m. start time has been moved back to 7:30 p.m. The first 2,000 kids in attendance will receive a Falcons Growth Chart featuring All-Star Defenseman Kevin Truelson.
NOTES
· Bullock's performance on Friday was his third two-goal game of the year. He continues to lead the club in goals (18), assists (22) and points (40) and is tied for 14th in scoring league-wide.
· After getting called-up to the San Jose Sharks on Jan. 3, Falcons goaltender Nolan Schaefer was then sent to the Cleveland Barons (AHL) on Jan. 6. He started twice this past weekend, first winning and then losing in overtime. The rookie is now 3-0-1 with a 2.46 goals against average and .923 save percentage for the Barons.
· The Falcons begin the week in sixth place in the Pacific Division. They are three points behind the fifth place Bakersfield Condors and 22 points back of the San Diego Gulls, who currently reside in the Pacific's fourth and final playoff position.
THIS WEEK'S PRACTICE TIMES
The Falcons will practice on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Save Mart Center in advance of tomorrow's tilt against Texas. They will shift to Gateway Ice Center on Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. and Thursday at 2:15 p.m. to prepare for this weekend's pair of games. The club will then return to Save Mart Center for pre-game morning skates on Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m.
