Peoria Rivermen News Release

Falling behind has not been a deterrent to the Peoria Rivermen as they came from behind for the seventh time on its current nine-game winning streak to down the Manitoba Moose 2-1 in Winnipeg Friday night.

Ryan Glenn opted for a wrist shot instead of a slap shot from the left point and it found room over the left shoulder of Moose netminder Corey Schneider at 13:53 for the game winner. Jean-Guy Trudel worked the puck up the wall to Jeff Woywitka, who fed Glenn for the shot.

"I did get a look at it," said Schneider of Glenn's goal. "There was a guy in front of me but I just couldn't get to the puck."

Schneider had plenty to do with Manitoba sticking around in the contest, making several highlight-reel saves including a diving stop on Nicholas Drazenovic in the second period. Chris Beckford-Tseu was not to be out-done in the Peoria goal, turning aside 31-of-32 shots to notch the victory. He was especially sharp in the final five minutes of the contest, where several saves were required to preserve the win for Peoria.

Manitoba opened the scoring with the first period's only goal when Greg Classen fired a wrist shot between the legs of Chris Beckford-Tseu at 13:39 from Alexandre Bolduc and Michael Grabner.

Chris Porter evened the game with his sixth of the year from Steve Wagner, taking a feed from the point and kicking it out of his skates to a shooting position and beating Schneider at 6:09 of the second period.

Peoria has now run up a 6-0 mark on the current seven-game road trip, and has won nine in a row overall and ten straight on the road.

The Rivermen will wrap up the road swing when they head down to Milwaukee for a 1 pm matinee game against the Admirals on Sunday afternoon. The Rivermen pre-game show kicks off at 12:30 pm with Tom Callahan on your Home for Rivermen Hockey, 96.5 ESPN RADIO. Peoria's next home game is on a Nesquik 2-for-Tuesday against the San Antonio Rampage at 7 pm.
