In Thursday's action, defenseman Jeff Woywitka tallied the game-winner and Hannu Toivonen made 24 saves as Peoria downed Manitoba, 4-2, for its eighth straight win... On Wednesday, Jeff Tambellini scored twice in Bridgeport's 3-2 win at Norfolk... Derek MacKenzie had a team-high three points (1-2-3) to help Syracuse past Philadelphia, 5-3.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Toronto concludes a seven-game swing through the West Division with a pair of tilts in Texas, visiting Houston on Friday and San Antonio on Sunday... The North Division-leading Marlies are 2-3-0-0 on the trip, while the Aeros have won four straight overall and are 12-1-0-1 in their last 14 contests at the Toyota Center... David Ling paces the Marlies with 36 points (9-27-36), while Robbie Earl has a point in eight of his last nine outings (2-7-9)... Second-year pro Justin Pogge is 14-3-4 with a 2.26 GAA for Toronto... Houston's Nolan Schaefer (16-7-0) leads the league in GAA (1.97) and save percentage (.930), and is tied for the lead with five shutouts, including four in his last nine starts... Steve Kelly has scored a goal in three of his last four games and paces the Aeros with 10 on the season (10-10-20)... 2008 AHL All-Star defenseman Erik Reitz has a team-high 24 points (7-17-24) and is plus-11 in 30 games.
Hershey and Albany are tied for the third place in the East Division with 46 points and go head-to-head at the Times Union Center in Albany on Friday... The Bears are 3-1-0-1 against the River Rats this season and have 13 straight visits to Albany since a 4-2 loss on Mar. 28, 2004... Hershey rookie Andrew Gordon has four goals in his last two games after scoring twice in his first 22 AHL contests... Joe Motzko leads the Bears with 27 points (13-14-27), while rookie goaltender Daren Machesney has won six straight decisions and ranks third in the league with a 2.14 GAA for the season... Albany's Brandon Nolan has a goal in five of his last six AHL games (5-5-10) and a point in 14 of his last 15 (7-12-19)... Jerome Samson is tied for second among AHL rookies in goals (15) and tied for fourth in points (27).
Manchester visits Milwaukee on Friday and Chicago on Saturday to finish a six-game road swing... Friday will mark the first-ever meeting between the Monarchs and Admirals, while Manchester took a 7-4 win over Chicago at home on Dec. 8... The Monarchs begin the weekend without AHL leading rookie scorer Teddy Purcell (14-39-53), who made his NHL debut for Los Angeles on Tuesday... Brian Boyle leads the Monarchs and all AHL rookies with 17 goals (17-19-36), and teammate Peter Harrold is the league's top-scoring defenseman with 38 points (7-31-38)... Manchester has the AHL's best power play at 26.7 percent; Milwaukee is fourth on the penalty kill (85.8%) and Chicago ranks eighth (85.2%).

On Thursday, 2007 AHL All-Star Andrei Kostitsyn scored in regulation and in a shootout to help Montreal edge Atlanta, 3-2... Also Thursday, 2008 AHL All-Star Pascal Pelletier made his NHL debut in Boston's 3-2 shootout loss to Toronto; Pelletier is tied for the AHL lead with 24 goals and ranks fourth with 48 points in 40 games for Providence... On Wednesday, 1998 AHL All-Star Daniel Briere scored twice as Philadelphia dropped Florida, 5-3.
