Peoria Rivermen News Release

St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Hannu Toivonen and right wing Mike Glumac from its AHL affiliate the Peoria Rivermen. The Blues also reassigned goaltender Marek Schwarz to the Rivermen as well.

Toivonen posted a 2-0 record while in Peoria with a 2.00 GAA and a .918 save percentage, helping the Rivermen continue its torrid streak through January where the club has reeled off eight straight wins.

Glumac has also been a huge part of the surging team, scoring in four of the club's last seven games with three goals and four assists in that stretch. The Niagara Falls, Ontario native last played three games for the Blues in 2006-07, recording one assist in that span.

Schwarz will return to the Rivermen after his second stint in St. Louis this year, seeing action in one game while with the club, a 6-1 loss to Chicago. Schwarz played two periods in relief of the injured Manny Legace, who left the contest after the first period. The Czech Republic native stopped 8 of the 13 shots he faced.

Peoria returns to action Friday night against the Moose in Winnipeg, Manitoba at 7:35 pm as the Rivermen look to win its tenth straight road decision and ninth in a row overall. The club will round out its season-long seven-game road swing with a 1 pm Sunday matinee in Milwaukee before heading home to face the San Antonio Rampage on a Nesquik 2-for-Tuesday game January 22 at 7 pm. Radio coverage begins with Tom Callahan and the Rivermen pre-game show one half-hour before puck drop on your Home for Rivermen Hockey, 96.5 FM ESPN RADIO.
