Red Deer Rebels News Release

The Red Deer Rebels and the local chapter of the Canadian Red Cross teamed up this past weekend to raise a total of $20,000.00 for Asian Tsunami Relief.

Cash donations, along with autographed hockey sticks from World Junior Champions Colin Fraser and Dion Phaneuf donated before Saturday's game against the Swift Current Broncos, brought in the bulk of the funds. Fans were treated with a surprise visit from Dion Phaneuf to the donation table following the game when he wrote a cheque, matching the amount raised in the silent auction for his autographed stick in the amount of $2,500.00.

The Red Deer Rebels and the Canadian Red Cross would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to the fans of Central Alberta for their very generous support this weekend.
