Cougars Make Deals

PRINCE GEORGE, BC- The Prince George Cougars have announced the acquisition of 18-year-old D Andy Rogers, 18-year-old G Scott Bowles, and 20-year-old F Lee Zalasky from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for 18-year-old G Justin Pogge, 18-year-old D Dylan Yeo, 20-year-old F Tyrel Lucas, and a 6th Round Bantam selection in 2006.

Rogers, the 30th overall pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, suited up in 18 games with the Hitmen this season, collecting 5 points (1G-4A) and 36 PIM's. Zalasky saw action in 42 games with Calgary this season, recording 11 goals, 14 assists (25 pts.), and 52 PIM's, while Bowles established a 2.57 GAA and 90.4 save % during his 32 games in Calgary before finishing off with a 15-12-4 record.

In a separate deal, the Cougars sent 18-year-old F Josh Aspenlind, a 5th Round Bantam selection in 2006, and a conditional 7th Round selection in 2006 to the Swift Current Broncos in exchange for 18-year-old F Tyler Feakes, 18-year-old F Blair Stengler, and 20-year-old D Matej Trojovsky ("Matty- Troy- Ovskie")

The newly acquired Feakes had 8 points (3G-5A) and 30 PIM's in 37 games with the Broncos this season, while LW Blair Stengler collected 3 goals, 7 helpers, and 44 PIM's in 37 games. In Trojovsky, the Cougars have added size to their blueline and round up their import roster. In 30 games, the 4th Round (130th overall) 2003 Carolina Hurricanes draft pick tallied 3 goals and 3 assist along with 119 PIM's.
