Kelowna Rockets News Release

Kelowna, BC - Kelowna Rockets President and General Manager, Bruce Hamilton announced the acquisition of defenseman LIAM COUTURE (KOO-CHOOR) from the Medicine Hat Tigers. In exchange, the Tigers will receive a pick in the 2005 Bantam Draft.

"We felt we needed to add a depth guy to our line-up since losing Kevin Reinholt to a shoulder injury. We expect LIAM to play in the fifth or sixth defensive role with our club. We feel this move provides our team with some extra insurance," commented Rockets President and General Manager, Bruce Hamilton.

Couture is presently in his third season in the Western Hockey League after playing two years in Spokane and this season with Medicine Hat. The 6'1" 193 lb defenseman is a native of Calgary, Alberta.
