
Kress\'s Haircut for Cancer Reaches $10,000 Goal

The Everett Silvertips finished the week 1-2 but remain in 2nd place in the U.S. Division with a record of 20-13-6-2 (48 points). One of the highlights of the week was off the ice on Saturday night when the Everett Silvertips completed their goal of $10,000 in the Mark Kress Haircut for Cancer Promotion. Kress will now get his hair shaved at a later date after a Silvertips home game. All of the hair will be donated to the Locks of Love Program along with all of the $10,000 donated to the Providence Medical Center cancer patient assistance fund.
WHO'S HOT
Torrie Wheat (15 goals, 18 assists) continues to lead the Silvertips in scoring with 33 points. Alex Leavitt (7 goals, 23 assists) is 2nd on the hockey club in scoring with 30 points. Wheat leads the Silvertips in goals scored with15 goals and Alex Leavitt leads the team with 23 assists. Rookie forward Zach Hamill leads the hockey club with a +/- rating of +10. In goal, Michael Wall and Leland Irving have remained solid between the pipes for the Silvertips. Wall is currently tied for 3rd in the WHL in Goals Against Average (1.91), 3rd in Save Percentage (.930), and tied for 2nd in Shutouts (7). Rookie Leland Irving is having a solid season as the backup with a 5-3-1 record, 1.52 Goals Against Average and a .942 Save Percentage.
SILVERTIPS SPECIAL TEAMS
The Everett Silvertips are 4th in the WHL on the power play (43 for 229, 18.8%) and 1st in the WHL on the penalty kill (150 for 167, 89.8%).
LAST YEAR AT THIS TIME...
Last season at this time the Silvertips were 17-16-7-1 after 41 games compared to 20-13-6-2 this season. Last season after 41 games the Silvertips scored 81 goals compared to 97 goals scored this season. After 41 games last season Everett gave up 93 goals compared to 82 goals allowed this season.
