ICE CHIPS: The Kootenay ICE enter the 17th week of the 2004-2005 season with a 25-13-4-0 record (17-4-3-0 at home, 8-9-1-0 on the road, 3-0-4-0 in overtime) and in second place in the BC DIVISION and fifth overall in the WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE...KOOTENAY will play four of their next six games at home.

UPCOMING PROMOTIONS: When the ICE host the PORTLAND WINTER HAWKS on Saturday, January 15, GOLD'S GYM will be the title sponsor...When KOOTENAY hosts SASKATOON on Sunday, January 16, IMPORT AUTO GROUP will be the game night sponsor.

DID YOU KNOW: JEFF GLASS recorded his fourth shutout of the 2004-2005 season, and 13th of his WHL career, January 8 versus CALGARY (21 saves)...MARTIN SAGAT recorded his first career hat trick on January 2 versus the MOOSE JAW WARRIORS...SAGAT needs to play in one more game to reach 100 in his WHL career...ADAM TAYLOR has moved into fourth place in all-time assists with the ICE franchise with 107 and needs six more to move into third (COLIN SINCLAIR has 112)...TAYLOR needs to play in six more games to reach 300 in his WHL career...ADAM CRACKNELL recorded his 100th career WHL point on January 8 versus CALGARY (43-57-100)...NIGEL DAWES needs two more assists to reach 100 in his WHL career...DALE MAHOVSKY has moved into fifth place in all-time games played with the ICE franchise with 246 career games played and needs to play in one more to move into third place (JARRET STOLL and DEAN ARSENE played 245 career games with the KOOTENAY franchise)...The ICE are 3-0-0-0 during the month of January (5-5-1-0 in December, 8-1-1-0 in November, 6-7-1-0 in October, 3-0-1-0 in September).

SCORING STREAK: DALE MAHOVSKY has recorded at least one point in each of his last three games (1-3-4 in span).

INJURY: Defenseman BRAD COLE will be out of the KOOTENAY line-up indefinitely with a broken arm.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 42 games of the 2003-2004 season the ICE were 18-18-3-3, after 43 games 19-18-3-3 and after 44 games 19-19-3-3.

DRAFTED PLAYERS: JEFF GLASS – Ottawa Senators (3rd Round, 2004 Draft), MARTIN SAGAT – Toronto Maple Leafs (3rd Round, 2003 Draft), NIGEL DAWES – New York Rangers (5th Round, 2003 Draft), ROMAN POLAK – St. Louis Blues (6th Round, 2004 Draft), ADAM CRACKNELL – Calgary Flames (9th Round, 2004 Draft).
