Trade Deadline Passes

The WHL trade deadline passed at 11:00 PM Spokane time and the Chiefs did not make any additional moves. Spokane took part in a pair of deals over the past week, acquiring Dan Mercer from the Moose Jaw Warriors for Steven Gillen and picking up Danny Lapointe from Prince George for a sixth round selection in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft.

The moves leave the Chiefs with 23 players on the roster including two goaltenders, seven defenseman and 14 forwards. By age, the Chiefs have three 20-year-olds, three 19-year-olds, six 18-year-olds, seven 17-year-olds and four sixteen year-olds.

Spokane will play a pair of road games next weekend when they travel to Tri-City to take on the Americans on Saturday night and Everett on Sunday night. Spokane will return home on Friday, January 21st when they host the Silvertips on Show Your Colors College Night presented by KHQ TV and 103.1 KCDA. Tri-City will visit the Arena on Saturday, January 22nd on Buck Night presented by Star @96.9.
