SHOTS FROM THE POINT 08-09
WELCOME BACK: The Rampage finally returned home last Saturday after the month long rodeo road trip. San Antonio closed out their 13-game, 26 day sojourn with a 4-3 shootout win in Iowa. For the trip, San Antonio went 4-5-2-2 collecting 12 points.
'FAN'TASTIC: A franchise record crowd of 10,265 fans rocked the AT&T Cen- ter Saturday as the Rampage played their only February home game on the month's last day. The previous record attendance was set on Feb. 27, 2003 when 10,238 fans welcomed back the Rampage from their month-long rodeo road trip during their inaugural season.
RAMPAGE SALUTE THE SOLDIERS: The San Antonio Rampage organiza- tion and the franchise record 10,265 fans paid tribute to those serving and who have served during their sixth annual Military Appreciation Night last Saturday. Including the donations of seats for soldiers, the Rampage auctioned off com- memorative camouflage game-worn jerseys to help raise money for the Ram- page Sled Hockey Team and Operation Comfort.
WELCOME HOME: The franchise record crowd got treated to a fantastic fin- ish. Down 2-0 to Rockford, the Rampage stormed back with two third period goals to force overtime. Jonas Ahnelov deposited his first goal of the season with less than two minutes remaining in regulation as San Antonio earned a point before falling to the IceHogs in a shootout.
'NOT SO' O.K. CORRAL: Saturday's shootout was San Antonio's second in as many games and third in their last four contests. Previously, the Rampage had only gone to a shootout twice. While Saturday's third period comeback helped the Rampage earn a point, San Antonio is only 1-4 in shootouts.
Ice Chips: Sean Sullivan
A second-year pro from Braintree, Massachusetts - Sean Sullivan is having a career season. "Sully" spent four sea- sons at Boston University after being drafted by Phoenix in the 2003 Draft (9th round, 290th overall).
Sullivan enters the week riding a three-game goal streak, an AHL personal best. In 49 games, he has amassed seven goals and 17 assists. Last year Sullivan totaled eight points on eight assists in 34 games.
