Moose Trade Matt Stephenson To Providence

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced today they have traded defenceman Matt Stephenson to the Providence Bruins for future considerations

Stephenson, 24, has appeared in 53 games this season with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL. So far, the Midland, ON native has scored 27 points (5-22-27) and 127 penalty minutes. Stephenson played in five AHL games with the Iowa Stars at the end of the 2007-08 season and tallied two penalty minutes in that time.

After playing four seasons in the NCAA with St. Cloud State, Stephenseon appeared in 141 games and accumulated 51 points (7-44-51).
