
Amerks Enter Final Two Months Of Regular Season

(Rochester, NY)... After claiming four out of a possible six points this past weekend to surpass last season's point totals, the Rochester Americans enter the final two months of the regular season this weekend with three more games in as many nights.
Rochester kicks off its three-game weekend on the road with back-to-back tilts with the Lake Erie Monsters on Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th at Quicken Loans Arena. The Amerks hit the ice Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and will be in action Saturday afternoon for a 1:00 p.m. matinee. Both contests will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live. Saturday's game will also be broadcast live over the NHL Network. Fans can head down to The Distillery on Winton Road (3010) for the Amerks Official Viewing Party. Meet the Amerks Moose and win prizes throughout the afternoon.
The games will be the fourth and fifth meetings of the season between the North Division rivals. The Amerks earned a 2-1 shootout victory over the Monsters in the teams' last meeting back on December 19th at The Blue Cross Arena to improve to 3-0-0-0 in the season series. Rochester is 6-2-1 all-time against the Colorado Avalanche's affiliate.
Rochester returns home on Sunday, March 8th to play host to the Providence Bruins. Faceoff is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena and will be carried live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live. The Amerks skated past the Baby Bruins to a 4-3 win in the only previous meeting between the two teams back on January 18th at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The Amerks are 12-14-1 lifetime against Boston's American Hockey League affiliate.
The game features the next installment of the Amerks' Red Hot Sundays. All fans who wear red to the game can receive tickets for as low as $5 for 200-end seating and best available seating for $10. As part of the festivities, the Amerks will be wearing their red jerseys.

It's also the next Tickets for Troops night. Active military and veterans can present a Military ID, VA Card or an American Legion or VFW membership card and receive premium seating for just $10 or 200 End seats for $5, at least a savings of $12.25 per ticket. All tickets can be purchased directly at the Box Office window at The Blue Cross Arena.
Rochester (24-33-0-5, 53 points), the winners in five of its last eight, enters the week after posting a 2-1-0-0 record over the weekend to surpass last season's point totals. The Amerks began the weekend scoring four unanswered goals to pick up a 4-1 win Friday night over the Hamilton Bulldogs at Copps Coliseum. First-year forward Michael Duco led the way with a two-goal effort and defenseman Mike Caruso chipped in a pair of assists.
After suffering their only loss of the weekend in a 4-3 setback to the Binghamton Senators Saturday night, the Amerks completed the home-and-home series last night with a 3-2 win against the B-Sens. Defenseman Jordan Henry netted the shorthanded game-winner with only 31 seconds left in regulation to give Rochester its second straight home win against Binghamton this season. It was a weekend of firsts for the Amerks as Andrew Sweetland scored his first professional goal and forwards Judd Blackwater and Jarret Lukin each picked up their first points in an Amerk uniform.
Rookie forward Michal Repik, who shows 19 points (8+11) in his last 17 games, currently reigns as the Amerks' top point-getter with a team-high 38 points and is 14th among AHL rookies in scoring. Further, his 15 goals tie him for the team lead with teammates Karl Stewart and Janis Sprukts, who has missed the last two games with an injury. First-year blueliner Jason Garrison has a team best 25 assists and continues to remain Rochester's top scoring defenseman with 29 points overall. Further, his 29 points presently rank him 19th among league defenseman.
Duco currently leads the team with 125 penalty minutes (PIM), with Tanner Glass a close second at 100 PIM. Goaltender Mike Brodeur boasts a 16-7-3 record in 29 games for the Amerks. His 2.29 goals-against average and .926 save percentage currently rank him fifth and third among AHL netminders, respectively. Further, his two shutouts tie him for fifth in the league. Tyler Plante is 5-4-0 since his return to the Amerks and is 5-9-0 on the season with 2.98 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.
