Canadiens Sign Left Wing Andrew Conboy To Contract

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that the club has signed left wing Andrew Conboy to a three-year National Hockey League contract (2009-2010 to 2011-2012). As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Conboy, 20, has competed in seven games with the Bulldogs this season recording one assist and four penalty minutes. Prior to joining Hamilton, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound winger played 21 games in the 2008-2009 season with the Michigan State Spartans accumulating five points (three goals, two assists) along with 76 penalty minutes. From 2006-2008, Conboy posted 88 points (42 goals, 46 assists) in 114 games with the USHL's Omaha Lancers, leading the team to the Clark Cup Championship with a league-high nine goals in 14 playoff games during the 2007-2008 season. The native of Burnsville, Minnesota was drafted by Montreal in the 5th round, 142nd overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

The Hamilton Bulldogs battle the Crunch tomorrow night in Syracuse for a 7:00 p.m. match-up.
