Prince Albert SK- The Prince Albert Raiders finished off draft day by selecting 4 players in rounds 7 through 10 at the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft in Calgary.

In the 7th round, the Raiders added their second defenceman of the draft with the 145th pick by selecting Brandon Griffiths of the Regina Monarchs. Appearing in 26 games for the Monarchs this year, the 5'11", 203-pound rearguard netted 16 points and 77 penalty minutes.

Raiders Director of Player Personnel Dale Derkatch describes Griffiths as "a solid stay at home defenceman who is physical and tough to play against. He is really good in front of net and in the corners in his own zone."

The Raiders chose the Medicine Hat native Michael Clarke, a 5'10", 170-pound forward who scored 29 times and added 33 assists for 62 in 32 games with the Southeast Hockey Hounds, with their 167th overall pick.

"Michael is an all around player who put up great numbers this season and is very good defensively. He is reliable and can play in every situation," said Derkatch.

With their 9th round selection, the Green and Gold chose forward Noah Turanski from the Pursuit of Excellence Bantam AAA program. The 6'3", 200-pound Vernon, BC product recorded 4 goals and 17 assists for 21 points and 88 penalty minutes.

"Turanski is a big defenseman who has a lot of raw untapped talent," said Derkatch. "He will need some skill development, but he works and competes very hard and can become a good shutdown type defender in this league."

With the first pick in the 10th round, Prince Albert selected 5'9", 160-pound Jaden Anderson from Aurora, Colorado, playing this season with the Colorado Thunderbirds Bantam AAA.

Derkatch sees Anderson as a "skilled forward who can do a bit of everything. He has a good shot, is very quick and can distribute the puck well."
