Medicine Hat, AB - The Western Hockey League Annual Bantam Draft is taking place today at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino in Calgary, AB.

The Medicine Hat Tigers are proud to select Edmonton, AB defenseman DAVID QUENNEVILE with their first pick of the 2013 draft, 10th overall.

Quenneville, 5' 7", 175 lbs. played for South Side Athletic club during the 2012-13 season collecting 16 goals and 28 assists for 44 points in 16 games. David was the second leading scoring defenseman in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League this year.

"What really attracted us to David are the intangibles to his game," stated Tigers' assistant general manager/head scout Brad McEwen.

"He has real good skill, competes so hard and has tremendous passion for the game. David is a puck moving, offensive defenseman who plays hard and has a gritty edge when he plays. David is an exciting player whose overall package leads us to believe he can be a top notch defenseman for our club over many years," said McEwen.
