LAST WEEK: Pee Dee wrapped up the regular season, going 2-0-1 for the week, losing in a shootout at Greenville, and winning two home games against Florida. The Pride ended the season in second place in the Southeast Division with a 41-25-6 record for 88 points. Pee Dee will meet Columbia in the 2002 Kelly Cup Playoffs Southeast Division Semifinals.

Tuesday, March 26 @ Greenville Grrrowl 4 PRIDE 3 (SO)

The Pride trailed 3-1 with a little under five minutes remaining in regulation when Joel Irwin scored to bring them within one. Gregor Krajnc tied the score with just 18 seconds left in the game. In the shootout, the Pride were unable to score on any of their four shots, and Greenville scored twice to give them the victory.

Friday, March 29 v. Florida PRIDE 6 Everblades 1

Leading 2-1 late in the second period, the Pride broke it open, scoring four answered goals the rest of the way. Wes Goldie scored a pair of shorthanded goals 20 seconds apart to set the final. Matt Reid had the hot hand for the Pride, contributing three assists. David Brumby made 26 saves to pick up the victory.

Saturday, March 30 v. Florida PRIDE 3 Everblades 2 (SO)

Dany Bousquet's power-play goal with 8:32 left in the third period tied the game, and sent it to overtime. In the sixth round of the shootout, Aaron Gates beat Florida goaltender Sean Matile with the game winner.

OTHER NOTES

30-GOAL TRIFECTA

The Pride ended the season with three 30-goal scorers. Allan Sirois with 37 and Joel Irwin with 30 set new career highs in goals scored, while Dany Bousquet completed the trifecta with 35. Bousquet has scored at least 30 goals in each of his six professional seasons.

BOUSQUET, SIROIS END SEASON ON STREAKS

Dany Bousquet and Allan Sirois both ended the regular season on scoring streaks. Bousqeut, who saw his ECHL season-high 12-game assist streak come to end on Friday night, ended the season with one point in each of the last 14 games. Over that span he chipped in 28 points. Sirois ended the season on a 10-game point streak, over which he totaled 16 points.

NEVER SAY DIE

Saturday night's come-from-behind win over Florida continued a season-long trend for the Pride of coming from behind. Pee Dee went 8-19-2 when trailing after two periods. The eight wins were tied for second-most in the league with Louisiana. Only Augusta with nine wins had more.
