Wheeling's MacKay Named ECHL Goalie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Wheeling's Tyler MacKay is the East Coast Hockey League Goalie of the Week for March 25-31.

In his first professional season, the 22-year-old MacKay went 2-0-1 with a 1.95 goals against average and a .960 save percentage in three starts.

MacKay made 37 saves in a 3-2 win at Reading on Friday and made 31 saves while picking up his first professional shutout in a 3-0 win against Northwest Division winner Dayton. He closed out the week on Sunday making 52 saves in a 4-3 shootout loss at Cincinnati.

MacKay finishes the season with a 16-12-1 record and a 2.83 goals against average and a .920 save percentage in 35 games for the Nailers.

Runners-up: Jason LaBarbera, Charlotte (2 gp, 2-0, 1.44 GAA, .946 save pct) and Marc Magliarditi, Louisiana (2 gp, 2-0, 1.50 GAA, .958 save pct)
