Stalwart becomes fourth different Bombers defenseman to be selected as a first-teamer

The Dayton Bombers have announced that defenseman Bill McCauley has been named to the 2001-2002 Postseason All-ECHL First Team, as determined in a vote conducted by ECHL coaches.

McCauley, who finished the regular season second on the Bombers in point scoring and tied for first in assists, becomes the fourth Bombers defenseman to have earned First-Team All-ECHL honors, joining current Bomber Tom Nemeth, who earned the honor three times (93-94, 99-00, 00-01), Steve Lingren (95-96), and Brandon Smith (94-95).

McCauley finished the regular season third in league defenseman points (56), fifth in defenseman goals (16), and tied for fifth in defenseman assists (40).

Captain Bill McCauley and the rest of the Bombers will begin their "ICE-75" Kelly Cup Northwest Division Semifinal Series with the Cincinnati Cyclones this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Ervin J.
