
Pride Announce Playoff Schedule

Series against Columbia begins Wednesday
FLORENCE, SC -- The Pee Dee Pride today announced the schedule for the 2002 Kelly Cup Playoffs Southeast Division Semifinals against the Columbia Inferno. The teams will alternate home games in the series, allowing the Pride to play the pivotal first, third and fifth games on their home ice.
The series will get underway on Wednesday, April 3, with a 7:00 face off at the Florence Civic Center. Game two is Friday, April 5, at the Carolina Coliseum at 7:30. Saturday, April 6, the two teams return to Florence for a 7:30 face off. If necessary, game four will be at Columbia on Sunday, April 7 at 6:00 p.m. The fifth and deciding game, if necessary, will be at the Florence Civic Center on Wednesday, April 10, at 7:00 p.m.
Pee Dee finished the regular season in second place of the Southeast Division with a record of 41-25-6 for 88 points. The Pride finished the season hot, going 7-2-1 over their last 10 games. That included a record of 4-0-1 in the final five road games of the regular season. Dany Bousquet led the Pride in scoring with 91 points, and finished the season tied for fifth in the league in points.
Columbia finished two points behind Pee Dee with a 36-22-14 record for 86 points. The Inferno also were hot at the end of the season, going 6-1-3 in their final 10 games. Rejean Stringer finished as the Inferno's leading scorer with 57 points.
In the head-to-head season series, the Pride went 4-4-0 against the Inferno, with two of the wins coming in overtime. Pee Dee was 3-1-0 at home and 1-3-0 at Columbia.
