
Pigs Drop Day/Night DH in Rochester

(Rochester, NY) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (42-51) turned in a tough day at Frontier Field on Saturday as the Rochester Red Wings (39-52) swept the day/night doubleheader. Rochester won game one 4-3 and won game two 6-4.
Game 1
Daniel Palka's first RBI of the game came in the bottom of the first inning against Adonis Medina. He hit into a groundout that scored Blake Swihart and gave Rochester a 1-0 lead. The Pigs were able to tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the fifth inning when Tyler Heineman hit an RBI single against Luis Reyes.
The Red Wings answered with two runs against Medina in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 3-1 lead. Reyes scored on an RBI groundout by Jake Noll and Palka recorded his second RBI of the game - a single that scored Swihart. Charlie Tilson tied the game at 3-3 for Lehigh Valley in the top of the seventh inning when he hit a two-run single against Reyes.
Palka won the game in the bottom of the seventh inning against Braeden Ogle (2-3) when he hit an RBI single to score Keibert Ruiz. Aaron Barrett (3-1) earned the win for Rochester.
Game 2
The Pigs scored all four of their runs against Bryan Bonnell in the top of the second inning to take a 4-0 lead. Ruben Tejada hit an RBI double that scored Darick Hall and Arquimedes Gamboa hit an RBI single that scored Tejada. Mickey Moniak hit a two-run double that scored Gamboa and Julian Garcia.
The Red Wings cut Lehigh Valley's lead to 4-2 against Garcia (0-4) in the bottom of the second inning when Jecksson Flores hit a two-run double. Four more runs were added in the bottom of the third inning as Rochester took a 6-4 lead. Alberto Baldonado (3-1) earned the win for Rochester as Sam Clay earned his first save of the season.
The Pigs and Red Wings wrap up their series on Sunday afternoon at Frontier Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
