OTHER NOTES

IMPRESSIVE DEBUTS, PART ONE

Several Pride players had impressive debuts on opening weekend. Two rookies, Mike Glumac and Daniel Carriere, each scored their first professional goals. Glumac's second goal of the weekend, Saturday against Columbia, was the game winner. Rookie netminder Matt Underhill, a First-Team All-American last season at Cornell University, recorded his first professional win on Saturday in his first pro start. Underhill turned aside 19 of 21 Columbia shots to pick up the victory.

IMPRESSIVE DEBUTS, PART TWO

Even though they are not rookies, two other Pride players also had successful first weekends. Kyle Kidney, who spent last year with Quad City (UHL) and Hershey (AHL) skated well all weekend, and scored the first goal of the game on Saturday. Preston Mizzi, an ECHL All-Star last year with Dayton who also spent time in the AHL with Syracuse, scored one goal and added four assists in weekend action. Even more impressive is the fact that Mizzi did not even arrive in Florence until Thursday, after getting released from AHL Chicago.
