Cincinnati Cyclones
Cyclones played in front of team-record crowd of 7,123 on Saturday. Cincinnati is a perfect 9-for-9 on the penalty kill. Mike Henderson is tied for the team lead with two points (1g-1a) in two games. Cincinnati travels to Dayton on Friday and Johnstown on Saturday.
Dayton Bombers
Bombers opened season with back-to-back home losses. Rookie Shane Bendera notched his first professional win Saturday against Wheeling. Tyler Sloan recorded his first two professional points with two assists against Wheeling. Hosts Cincinnati Friday before traveling to Toledo Saturday and Johnstown Sunday.
Johnstown Chiefs
Chiefs are 2-0 to open the season for first time since 2000-01. Lucas Smital scored his 90th goal in a Johnstown uniform in Friday's 5-1 win at Dayton. Phil Roy, Vladimir Nemec, J.F. Boutin and Dominic Forget each scored in both games. Chiefs play at Toledo on Friday and host Cincinnati on Saturday.
Lexington Men O¹ War
Jeff Bateman scored the first goal in Men O¹ War history in Friday¹s 4-3 shootout loss. Josh Mizerek and David Del Monet scored 24 seconds apart on Friday. Dan Murpy stopped 25 of 28 shots in a 3-0 loss to Greensboro on Saturday. Lexington travels to Peoria on Friday and hosts Toledo on Sunday.
Peoria Rivermen
Peoria lost 4-3 at Toledo on Friday and won 2-1 at Cincinnati on Saturday. Tyler Rennett leads the ECHL with two short-handed goals. Rivermen play back-to-back road games against Wheeling on Saturday and Saturday. Sunday¹s game will be played at Mellon Arena, the home of the NHL¹s Pittsburgh Penguins.
Toledo Storm
Toledo won 4-3 against Peoria on Friday and lost 5-4 in shootout at Johnstown on Saturday. Claude Noel earned first win as Storm head coach in 4-3 against Peoria on Friday. Erik Anderson (1g-2a) and Alexandre Jacques (1g-1a) each had a multi-point game on Friday. Hosts Johnstown on Friday and Dayton on Saturday, and plays at Lexington on Sunday.
Wheeling Nailers
Nailers won home opener against Cincinnati, 6-2, on Sunday. Hosts first-ever ECHL Game in NHL arena on Sunday at Pittsburgh¹s Mellon Arena. Mario LaRocque leads ECHL defensemen with three goals and five points. Wheeling travels to Atlantic City on Friday and hosts Peoria on Saturday and Sunday.
