Augusta Lynx
Jim Shepard and Ryan Lauzon each had a goal in 5-2 loss against Florida on Friday. Rookie Geoffrey Faulkner earned first professional win in 3-2 shootout against Florida. Jim Shepherd leads team with two goals, two points and a +1 rating. Augusta hosts Richmond on Tuesday, Columbus on Friday and Greensboro on Saturday.
Columbia Inferno
Columbia was 8-for-8 on the penalty kill in 6-3 win against Columbus on Friday. Shawn Wansborough leads the team with three points (2g-1a) in two games. Inferno is 11-12 with a short-handed goal on the penalty kill in its first two games. Hosts Florida on Thursday and Greenville on Friday, and visits Greenville on Saturday.
Columbus Cottonmouths
Mike Morrison stopped 40 of 41 regulation shots and 4-of-4 in shootout win against Florida. C.J. Hunter has scored a goal in back-to-back games. Brent Cullaton scored team¹s first short-handed goal of the season at Columbia on Friday. Cottonmouths travel to Augusta on Friday and South Carolina on Saturday.
Florida Everblades
Don Smith registered a point in each of team¹s first three games (1g-2a). Rob Zepp is 1-0-1 and ranks fifth in the ECHL with a .957 save percentage. Everblades are 8-for-8 on the penalty kill, tying them for the ECHL lead. Florida plays at Columbia on Thursday and at Pee Dee on Friday and Saturday..
Greenville Grrrowl
2002 Kelly Cup Champion banner raised in front of 6,632 fans at Saturday's home opener. Mike Hurley scored four points (2g-2a) in Saturday's 7-6 shootout loss to South Carolina. Defensemen Eric Lind and Luke Sellars each scored a goal on Friday at Charlotte. Greenville plays at Columbia on Friday and hosts Columbia on Saturday.
Pee Dee Pride
Rookie Matt Underhill, an All-American at Cornell, had first professional win on Saturday. Mike Glumac first professional goal on Friday and the game-winning goal on Saturday. Preston Mizzi leads the team and is tied for second in the ECHL with four assists. Pee Dee hosts Florida on Friday and Saturday at Florence Civic Center.
South Carolina Stingrays
South Carolina went 6-for-20 on the power play in its first two games. Posted 5-4 shootout win at Pee Dee and 7-6 shootout win at Greenville. Seven different players have scored goals for South Carolina. Stingrays play 10th season opener on Saturday, hosting Charlotte.
