Arkansas RiverBlades
Season opener on Saturday drew 6,429 fans, the second-largest crowd in team history. Jason Saal made 48 saves in the RiverBlades' 6-5 season-opening shootout loss to Louisiana. Buddy Smith and Jason Bermingham each scored two goals and four points in season opener. RiverBlades play at Pensacola on Friday and at Jackson on Saturday.
Baton Rouge Kingfish
Seven of the Kingfish's 13 goals are power-play goals and two are short-handed goals. Friday's 7-6 win against Jackson was second opening-night victory since 1996-97. Glen Crawford scored a penalty-shot goal in Sunday's 5-4 loss at Pensacola. Baton Rouge travels to Jackson on Friday and plays at Louisiana on Saturday..
Jackson Bandits
Doug McIver and Randy Copley each recorded an assist in all of Jackson's first three games. Tyrone Gardner leads the ECHL with 96 saves, including an ECHL season-high 49 on Saturday. Mike Oliveria and John McNabb each scored two goals in Friday's 7-6 loss at Baton Rouge. Bandits host Baton Rouge in home opener on Friday and host Arkansas on Saturday.
Louisiana IceGators
Louisiana opened season with 6-5 shootout win at Arkansas on Saturday. IceGators tied team single-game record with 13 power-play attempts on Saturday. Dave Farrish (99-36-4) looks for his 100th win with Louisiana on Friday. Hosts Mississippi on Friday and Sunday and plays at Baton Rouge on Saturday..
Mississippi Sea Wolves
Cody Bowtell is tied for third in the ECHL with five points (2g-3a) in three games. Greg Gardner is tied for the ECHL lead with two wins and has a .917 save percentage. Jim Baxter is tied for second among ECHL defensemen with three assists. Travels to Louisiana on Friday, and hosts Pensacola on Saturday and Louisiana on Sunday.
Pensacola Ice Pilots
Ice Pilots are 2-0 for second consecutive season and third time in team history. 2002 ECHL Scoring Leader Louis Dumont leads Pensacola with four points (2g-2a). ECHL All-Star Greg Pankewicz leads the team with three goals. Pensacola hosts Arkansas on Friday and plays at Mississippi on Saturday.
