P-Bruins Spend Weekend in Norfolk
November 7, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Providence Bruins News Release
The P-Bruins will spend this weekend on the road taking on the Norfolk Admirals Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12. Both games begin at 7:15 p.m. from the Norfolk Scope. Head coach Scott Gordon's club has had great success on the special teams all season long. The P-Bruins have scored half of their goals on the power play, which ranks sixth in the league. The P-Bruin penalty kill unit was stellar this weekend as well. Besides the lone Norfolk goal Friday night, the Bruins held their opponents scoreless on the man-advantage (0 for 17). The Bruin defense and goaltending has shined as they have held opponents to an average of 2.63 goals per game, which ranks fifth in the league.
Left wing Eric Healey continues to lead the P-Bruins in scoring after picking up two points Saturday night in Hartford. Healey has 12 points (5g, 7a) and sits tied for 20th in the league in scoring. Defenseman Chris Dyment took advantage of his power play time this weekend by scoring two goals and recording an assist. His three points this season is almost half of his scoring total from the entire 2004-05 season when he had seven points (3g, 4a) in 48 games. Left wing Zdenek Blatny along with Dyment and rookies Ben Walter and Tyler Redenbach led the Bruins in scoring this weekend with three points each. Blatny and Walter are tied for third on the team in scoring with seven points a piece, while Redenbach is second with nine points. Redenbach is tied for tenth in the league among rookie scorers, while Walter is tied for 19th.
