Smithson recalled by Nashville

Milwaukee, WI-Nashville Predators Executive Vice-President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the team has recalled center Jerred Smithson from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. In addition, the Admirals released defenseman Nathan Lutz and recalled center Preston Mizzi from Rockford of the United Hockey League.

Smithson, 26, has appeared in eight games for the Admirals this season, registering 12 penalty minutes. The 6-3, 194-lb center played in all 80 games for Milwaukee last season, posting 22 points (11g-11a) and 92 PIMs. Smithson has appeared in 30 career NHL games for the Los Angeles Kings, notching three assists.

Lutz played in five games for Milwaukee after signing as a free agent on October 20. Mizzi has 13 points (10g-3a) in 8 games with the IceHogs thus far this season.

Milwaukee is back in action Tuesday, November 8 when they travel to Des Moines to take on the Iowa Stars. The next Admirals home game is next Friday, November 11 versus the same Stars team at the Bradley Center. Puck drop is set for 7:00 pm.
