WHAT'S NEW!

Mike Wall

Last night, rookie Mike Wall earned his first AHL shutout as the Pirates beat the Providence Bruins 1-0 at the Cumberland County Civic Center. The Pirates are now tied for first place in the Atlantic Division with the Hartford Wolf Pack. The two teams will meet on Wednesday night in Hartford at 7:00p.m.

Today Dustin Penner was named the WJAB Player of the Week. Penner scored two goals this weekend, including the game-winner on Sunday versus Providence.

UPCOMING PROMOTIONS

Friday, November 11th vs. Springfield 7:05 p.m.- Amato's Future Stars Friday. All MSHA, Middle School and High School hockey players can catch all Pirates Friday home games on us - free of charge! All you need to do is present your Amato's Future Stars ID card at the ticket window.

Saturday, November 12th vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 7:05 p.m. - Gold medalist swimmer and Portland native, Ian Crocker will be at the game to meet fans and promote his new DVD "Unfiltered". Saturday will also be Salvation Army Night.

Ticket plans are still available for the 2005-06 season at the Pirates office, located at 531 Congress Street in Portland. Ticket plans start at just $50. The office is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fans can also purchase tickets over the phone by calling (207) 828-4665 or by e-mailing tickets@portlandpirates.com.

IN THE COMMUNITY

This Wednesday, Dustin Penner will join the "Morning Jab" on WJAB on 1440AM/95.5 FM on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m.

On Thursday, November 10th fans can play "Stump the Owner" with Pirates Managing Owner/CEO Brian Petrovek and Shipyard Brewing Co. owner Fred Forsley at Bleachers from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

On Monday, November 14th meet some of the Pirates players at O'Naturals Restaurant on Exchange St. in Portland from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, November 16th meet Pirates players at Hannaford in South Portland from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Lock Monsters snapped the Pirates five game winning streak.

Saturday, November 5th vs. Lowell (2-1 W)

Goaltender Gregg Naumenko made 15 saves and earned his first win as a Pirate.

Sunday, November 6th vs. Providence (1-0 W)

Rookie Mike Wall made 24 saves and Dustin Penner scored the game-winner.
