The Milwaukee Admirals have won their last two games, both via the shootout, 3-2 at Omaha and 5-4 vs. Chicago. Kris Beech leads the Admirals with five goals and with nine overall points: 8(5/4/9). Four of his goals have come on the power-play. Darren Haydar leads the Admirals with nine assists: 8(0/9/9). Sheldon Brookbank has racked up a team-high 33 penalty minutes--- The Admirals rank 9th of 27, scoring 13 power-play goals on 70 chances--- The last time these two teams met, the Stars and Ads went to an 11-round shootout, with the Stars Patrick Traverse scoring a goal in the 11th round to give Iowa a 3-2 win on Friday, October 21st. David Oliver and Marius Holtet notched the other Iowa goals.

The Toronto Marlies have a record of 5-6, 10 points through 11 games, including a two-game winning streak. They earned a 2-1 win in Rochester on Sunday and a 6-5 shootout win at Hamilton on Saturday. Kris Newbury and Brad Leeb had two goals apiece on Saturday. Leeb paces the club with six goals. The team has a four-way tie for first in points: Johnny Pohl (5/4/9), Bates Battaglia (4/5/9), Jeremy Williams (3/6/9) and Brett Engelhardt (1/8/9).

The Rivermen split the home-and-home series with Omaha over the weekend, shutting out the Knights 2-0 on Friday and losing 3-2 on Saturday at home. Recently recalled by St. Louis, Peter Sejna leads the team with 16 points, including a team-high nine goals. Seven of his goals have come on the power-play. Goalies Curtis Sanford and Jason Bacashihua have posted almost identical numbers though their 12 games: Sanford - 6 games: 358 minutes, .929%, 11 Goals Allowed, 154 Shots, 143 Saves, 2 shutouts; Bacashihua - 6 games: 358 minutes, .923%, 12 Goals Allowed, 155 Shots, 143 Saves, 2 shutouts

- Defenseman Patrick Traverse leads the team with nine points: (0/9/9) with all points coming via assists. He is tied for fourth among AHL defenseman in overall points and is second based on assists alone.
- With Vojtech Polak's shorthand goal on Thursday, the AHL has just five teams that have yet to register a shorthand goal: (Omaha, Springfield, Cleveland, Norfolk, Providence). Iowa and Hartford are the only two teams that have not allowed a shorthanded goal this season.
- In five games this season, Vojtech Polak has recorded four goals and three assists: 5(4/3/7).
- Iowa and Peoria are tied for the League-lead in game-misconducts: Five.
- The Iowa Stars are ranked fifth in the AHL, averaging 31.1 penalty minutes a game. Iowa has accumulated 311 PIM's, while their opponents played have recorded 333 PIM's.

NOTES: The Iowa Stars made their first trip to Texas on Thursday night, where even a three-point effort from Vojtech Polak was not able to secure a win for the Stars. The Houston Aeros used five different scorers to earn the 5-3 win over Iowa. After a scoreless first period, Kirby Law gave the Aeros a 1-0 lead at 8:16 of the second period. Vojtech Polak tied the score up at one when he notched the Iowa Stars first-ever shorthanded goal at 16:45 of the second period. Polak, scoring his fourth goal in five games, knotted the score at two at 2:05 of the third period. Captain Dan Jancevski evened the score at three with his third marker of the year. The score remained tied until 14:03 of the third when Eric Westrum scored the eventual game-winner for the Aeros. The fifth and final Houston goal came via the empty net with :09 seconds remaining. Polak, the game's Number Two Star, finished the game with three points, earning an assist on Jancevski's goal. Goalie Mike Smith stopped 18 of 22 shots. Smith played the 04-05 season in Houston, earning a 19-17-3 record.
