Peoria, IL (November 7, 2005) - Director of Community Relations Angie Sammons of the Peoria Rivermen, proud new primary affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, today announced that several members of the team will make a community appearance at the Casey's General Store in West Peoria, located on Farmington Road, on Tuesday, November 8. In conjunction with the player appearance, the West Peoria Casey's will be offering a variety of special offers and discounts on pizza and soft drinks.
Scheduled to appear at the West Peoria Casey's on Tuesday are Rivermen forwards Colin Hemingway, Troy Riddle, and Mike Stuart. They will be there from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to mingle with fans, sign autographs, and pose for pictures. The Captain, the Rivermen mascot, will join the players at the event.
To add to the fun on Tuesday evening, the West Peoria Casey's General Store will run several specials on pizza and soft drinks. From 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., fans will be able to purchase large one-topping pizzas for only $7.00 each and individual slices of pizza for $.99 each. Fountain soft drinks will also be offered during the event for the special price of one penny per ounce. In addition, several prizes will be given away throughout the evening in raffle drawings, the proceeds of which will be donated to South Side Mission.
The Rivermen are a proud new member of the AHL. Founded in 1936, the AHL now serves as the primary development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams and is celebrating its 70th anniversary season in 2005-06.
