
Nashville Reassigns Klein, Zanon

Milwaukee, WI- Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has reassigned defensemen Greg Zanon and Kevin Klein to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. In addition, Admirals Executive Vice-President/General Manager Phil Wittliff announced that the team had signed defenseman Steve Lingren to a standard players contract.
Zanon has posted 30 points (8g-22a) and a team-high +14 rating in 56 games for Milwaukee this season. In his most recent stint with Nashville, the Burnaby, B.C. native, who wears the captain's "C" for Milwaukee, played in two games for the Preds, picking up an assist and averaging over 18 minutes of ice time per game. He was originally signed as a free agent by Nashville on July 9, 2004 after helping the Ads capture the 2004 Calder Cup with a league-best +10 rating in the post-season.
Klein leads Milwaukee defensemen with 38 points (9g-29a) in 61 games this season. Recalled to Nashville for the second time this year, the 6-1, 195-pound blueliner logged 13:23 of ice time in the Preds 3-2 overtime win versus Vancouver on March 9. Klein was originally Nashville's third choice, 37th overall (second round), in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Lingren has 45 points (22g-23a) and 70 penalty minutes in 59 games for the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL this season. The Lake Cowichan, BC native spent the previous two seasons with the Rochester Americans, totaling 22 points (5g-17a) and 201 PIMs for the Amerks. A veteran of over 440 AHL/IHL games, Lingren is playing in his 13th professional season.
