SENS SNIPPETS: DENIS HAMEL played in his 217th regular season game with the B-Sens, a new franchise record, on Friday in Manchester. Defenseman CHRISTOPH SCHUBERT, now playing in Ottawa, previously the record by playing in 216 regular season games between 2002 and 2005...HAMEL also set a new franchise record for goals in a season on Wednesday, March 8, when he tallied four goals against the Norfolk Admirals. He then extended the record to 44 goals during the weekend. The previous record of 39 goals by HAMEL was established last season. The Sens' captain needs only five more power-play goals to tie the AHL single season record of 27 power-play goals set by MITCH LAMOUREUX (Hershey, 1993-94), BRAD SMYTH (Carolina, 1995-96) and PETER FERRARO (Binghamton, 1995-96). HAMEL also has a chance to become the first Binghamton AHL player to reach 50 goals since DON BIGGS of the Binghamton Rangers accomplished the feat during the 1992-93 season....The Senators have been outshot by a combined total of 42 to eight during the first period of their last three games... Binghamton had scored a power-play goal in nine straight games before being held scoreless in five tries on Sunday against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Senators converted on 15 of 50 (30%) power plays during the streak....The Senators 3-1 win in Hartford on Saturday was the 150th all-time regular season win for the franchise.
