
Senators release Jamieson; sign two from college ranks

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators today released winger Dusty Jamieson from his 25-game professional tryout agreement and signed collegiate forwards Bobby Robins and Brandon Schwartz to 25-game amateur tryout agreements.
Schwartz, a 24-year-old from St. Cloud, Minn., was second in scoring for Michigan Tech of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association with 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) in 38 games this season. It was the second consecutive season he tallied 10 goals and 16 assists. Schwartz had totals of 34 goals, 48 assists and 82 points in 143 career games and played in all 113 Michigan Tech contests during the last three seasons.
Robins joins the Senators after four seasons at UMass-Lowell of the Hockey East conference where he led his team with 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) in 35 games this season. The 24-year-old from Peshtigo, Wis. also led the River Hawks with 94 penalty minutes and tied for the team lead with six power-play goals. He tallied 69 points (32 goals, 37 assists) in 127 career games for UMass-Lowell.
Both players are expected to join the Senators prior to their home game on Wednesday night against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Dusty Jamieson had one assist in four games with the Senators since being signed to a 25-game professional tryout agreement on March 7. Jamieson will return to Charlotte of the ECHL where he leads the squad with 55 points (27 goals, 28 assists) this season.
Binghamton kicks off a stretch of three home games in four nights against the Penguins on Wednesday. Tickets for the games on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday may be purchased by calling (607) 722-SENS.
