Portland Pirates News Release
Saturday, March 18th vs. Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:05 p.m. - This will be the fourth U.S. Cellular Night! The first 5,000 fans will receive the second and final set of 12 Portland Pirates player collector cards sponsored by U.S. Cellular. After the game, 2,000 fans will also receive a coupon from Subway Restaurants.
Sunday, April 2nd - 4:05 PM vs. Albany River Rats - Team Photo Night and the $10,000 DASH FOR CASH! The Maine Credit Union League will provide a 2005-2006 Portland Pirates team photo to each fan in attendance. In addition, fans can sign up in the lobby for the chance to compete in the popular $10,000 Dash for Cash promotion brought to you by Modern Woodmen of America.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
On Sunday, March 12th, Pirates players Curtis Glencross and Tim Brent took part in the Pirates and Country Kitchen Youth Hockey Clinic for the Casco Bay Squirt travel team at the Cumberland County Civic Center. The Casco Bay team recently won the State Championship for Tier 2 Squirts. The two Pirates players helped run the team's practice and demonstrated new drills and techniques for the kids as they prepare for the New England Regional this weekend in Barre, Vermont.
Wednesday, March 15th - Hannaford Appearance - From 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Curtis Glencross and Nathan Saunders will be at the Hannaford store in Falmouth on 65 Grey Rd. The players will meet with fans, sign autographs and give tickets away to upcoming Pirates games every 10 minutes!
Thursday, March 16th - Hannaford Appearance - From 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Dieter Kochan and Garett Bembridge will be at the Hannaford store in Portland on 295 Forest Ave. The players will meet with fans, sign autographs and give tickets away to upcoming Pirates games every 10 minutes!
Thursday, March 16th - "Goals for Success" - From 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Curtis Glencross and Zenon Konopka will be at the Manchester Elementary School in Windham to present the Pirates "Goals for Success" program. The program is sponsored by Healthy Maine Partnerships and Pepsi.
Friday, March 17th - Race the Pirates - Pirates players will be at the Maine Indoor Karting facility in Scarborough from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Come meet your favorite players for an exciting night of racing! For more information, log onto www.maineindoorkarting.com. Join the Pirates for the 2006 Southern Maine Heart Walk! Fans, you can help the Pirates in the fight against heart disease and stroke by joining the official Portland Pirates team, the "Pirates Plank Walkers".
