
Admirals and Sound Tigers close out season series, Wolf Pack come to Scope

NORFOLK, VA - After concluding their 11-game road tilt in Binghamton, the Admirals hosted Bridgeport for their final regular season pairings this year. On March 8th, Norfolk jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but the B-Sens scored six unanswered goals, including four by Denis Hamel, to down the Ads 7-4. On March 10th, Jason Morgan, Matt Keith and Carl Corazzini all had multi-point games to lead Norfolk over Bridgeport 4-2. The next night, the Admirals couldn't overcome an early 3-1 deficit as they eventually fell 5-2 to the Sound Tigers.
STANDINGS
At 33-24-4-4 (74 pts), Norfolk is currently third in the East. The division is led by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (43-16-3-3, 92 pts), followed by Hershey (38-18-3-9, 88 pts) in second. Bridgeport (33-27-4-2, 72 pts), Philadelphia (26-30-1-7, 60 pts) and Binghamton (26-31-4-3, 59 pts) trail the Admirals.

TEAM NOTEBOOK
- In their last five games (since March 4th at Lowell), the Admirals are just 2-24 on the power play (8.3) and 25-36 (69.4) on the penalty kill.
- Jason Morgan had six points (2g, 4a) last week, and now has 14 points (4+10) over his past 11 matches.
- In addition to Morgan, Nathan Barrett (2g, 1a), Matt Keith (1g, 3a) and Martin St. Pierre (1g, 3a) all registered points in each of Norfolk's three games last week.
- On March 10th, Adam Munro made his first start for Norfolk since December 28th, stopping 28 shots to earn the win.
- Forwards Rory McMahon and John Snowden were signed to PTO's on March 10th and made their AHL debuts with Norfolk that evening. Following the Admirals' game on March 11th, both players were released.
- Mark Cullen scored a goal and recorded his 1st NHL career assist in Chicago's 5-3 loss to Detroit on Sunday.
