
Rullier to Monarchs, Smyth to Pack

Hartford, March 13, 2006: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager/head coach Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the team has loaned defenseman Joe Rullier to the Manchester Monarchs in exchange for right wing Brad Smyth.
Smyth, 33, leads the Monarchs in scoring with 64 points (27-37=64) in 64 games this season. The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, is 28th on the AHL's all-time scoring list with 645 points in 594 games over 10 seasons. Smyth returns to Hartford, where he was part of the Wolf Pack's 2000 Calder Cup championship-winning team. Smyth is the Pack's second all-time points scorer, with 343 points scored in 329 games. Additionally, Smyth leads the Pack in all-time goals, netting a total of 177 goals.
Rullier, 26, has played in 51 games with the Wolf Pack, collecting 28 points (6-22=28) and 123 penalty minutes this season. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound native of Montreal, Quebec, played the last four seasons (2001-2005) for the Monarchs and earned 44 points (11-33=44) and 807 penalty minutes.
The Wolf Pack return to action Wednesday, March 15th, with a visit to Philadelphia (7:05 faceoff). After that, the Pack head to Norfolk to take on the Admirals two nights in a row on Friday (7:15 p.m.) and Saturday (7:15 p.m.).
