Multiple Injuries Force Storm to Undergo Roster Changes

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that they have made several roster moves. They have transferred forward Taylor Raszka from the 7-day injured reserve list (IR) to the 30-day IR. Storm goaltender Logan Koopmans has also been placed on the 30-day IR, while recently appointed All-Star Andrew Martin has been placed on the 3-day IR. In their absence, the Storm have added forward Nello Ferrara (fur-are-uh) and emergency goaltender Steve Klockowski .

Raszka had played in 13 games this season with the Storm before he was initially placed on the IR. During those games, he recorded a pair of points (1G, 1A) with 4 PIMS and a -1 rating. Logan Koopmans, meanwhile, has also seen action in 13 games where he has accumulated a 9-4-0 record posting a 2.81 goals against average and a 0.913 save percentage. Andrew Martin, who was named to the 2007 RBK Hockey ECHL All-Star game yesterday, has been a main offensive leader for the Storm. In 18 games with Toledo, he has notched 20 points (8G, 12A) which is second most on the team and sixth most among ECHL Rookies.

Nello Ferrara, the Chicago, Illinois native, joins the Storm after playing a handful of games with the Bakersfield Condors a year ago. During just 5 games with the Condors, he went pointless with 17 PIM. Ferrara has also seen time with the Laval Chiefs, Orlando Seals, Rockford IceHogs, and Kansas City Outlaws.

The Storm will return home to face the Cyclones once again tonight at Toledo Sports Arena followed by a Saturday night tilt with the Johnstown Chiefs. Saturday's game will also be the annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by Buckeye Cable System.
