Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the Boston Bruins, has announced that T.J. Trevelyan was named to the National Conference All-Star Team for the 2007 Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game, which will be held on January 17, 2007 at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho.
Currently recalled to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League, Trevelyan led the Ice Dogs at the time of his recall in scoring with 17 points (9g, 8a) in 15 games. In nine games with the Providence Bruins, T.J. has six points (5g,1a) including a GWG in a 3-2 shoot-out win vs. the Worcester Sharks on December 10th.
Trevelyan, 22, is in his first professional season after four years with the St. Lawrence University Saints of the ECAC. The undrafted left wing from Mississauga, Ontario, posted a career-high in points last season with 48 (20g, 28a) in 40 games. In 150 collegiate games, Trevelyan had 154 points (78g, 76a) and 204 PIM. During his senior season, Trevelyan led the ECAC in scoring, he was named a First-Team All-American, the ECAC Player of the Year, an ECAC First-Team All-Star and a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award.
The Ice Dogs have a cluster of activities planned this weekend at the Long Beach Arena. Former NHL tough guy, Kip Brennan, will make his long awaited Long Beach Arena debut for the Ice Dogs on "Bah-Hum-Bug-Night" when the Ice Dogs host the Phoenix RoadRunners on Friday night at 7:30pm. This is the first meeting between the two clubs after combining for 11 fighting majors and 143 penalty minutes back on November 25th in Phoenix. All fans in attendance will receive a free raffle ticket to be redeemed at Saturday night's home game vs. the Stockton Thunder (must be present to win/must have ticket to game) for a chance to walk away with one of ten PS3's. The $2 beer garden and $2 hot dogs will also be made available during Friday night's game. At the conclusion of the game, the entire Ice Dogs team will be available for a team autograph session and the Golden Sombrero now stands at $13,000!
The Ice Dogs will be in the holiday spirit on Saturday night at 7pm vs. the Stockton Thunder as 10 lucky fans will leave the arena with a PS3! All fans in attendance will receive an Ice Dogs' Holiday ornament when the Ice Dogs look to take two points from the Thunder for the first time this season. Along with the 10 PS3's raffled off, the Ice Dogs will be giving away one PS3 during the "Chuck-a-Puck" promotion with portions of the proceeds being donated to long time Ice Dogs fan and twelve year-old Brandon White, who was diagnosed with bone cancer in April and is currently in treatment.
AUDIO portion of all games will be available on www.icedogs.com by clicking on the TEAMLINE logo and VIDEO will be available at all home games for $6. Season tickets and group sales for the 2006-07 season are still on sale now. Call (562) ICE-DOGS or visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
