
Capitals Sign Dovgan To Three-Year Deal

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed South Carolina Stingrays rookie defenseman Viktor Dovgan to a three-year entry-level contract.
South Carolina is the ECHL affiliate of the Capitals of the NHL and the Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.
Selected in the seventh round (209th overall) by Washington in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, the 19-year-old Dovgan, who is on the 7-day injured reserve, has two points (1g-1a) and 39 penalty minutes in 22 games for South Carolina.
The Stingrays get back into action tonight at 7:30 p.m. against the Florida Everblades at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida.
