Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - Ryan MacDonald stopped 38 Stockton shots on Friday night as the Fresno Falcons recorded their third straight victory with a 3-1 win on front of 4,168 fans.
Fresno took a 1-0 lead 10:10 into the first period. Tomas Fojtik skated across the Stockton blue line and beat goaltender Cam Ellsworth with a quick wrist shot to the short side for his third goal of the season.
Stockton pulled even just over four minutes later at 14:45. Brandon Hodge stole the puck off of the face off and took a quick shot on goal which was stopped by MacDonald, but the rebound came free to Stephane Goulet, and he slid a shot past MacDonald for his ninth of the year.
MacDonald kept the Falcons in the game throughout the second period as Stockton dictated play for most of the period, and held the Falcons without a shot until the final four minutes of the period. Fresno finally got its first shot of the period at 16:21, and it gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead. Luke Curtin had the puck along the far wall, and he centered a pass in front for John Wroblewski, and he redirected the puck past Ellsworth for a power-play goal.
The Falcons' power-play struck again at 17:56 giving Fresno a 3-1 lead after two periods. Curtin gathered in the puck in the high slot, and took a long-range shot that was tipped in front by Josh Prudden who picked up his seventh goal of the season.
Stockton out-shot Fresno 18-5 in the third period, but MacDonald stopped all 18 shots to record his sixth win of the season.
