Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Aces center Julian Talbot and winger Kevin Croxton have earned a trip to the 2007 Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game in Boise, Idaho at Qwest Arena January 17.

Talbot scored in Alaska's 4-0 win over Idaho Wednesday and ranks among the top 20 ECHL rookies with 18 points (8g-10a). The 21-year-old Talbot also is tied for the league lead among first-year players at +11 for the season. Like his older brother Joe, Julian spent his junior career with the Ontario Hockey League's Ottawa 67's and has been selected for the ECHL all-star as a rookie (Joe was selected in 2004).

The 24-year-old Croxton played four seasons at Division I RPI, an ECAC school in upstate New York, and like Talbot, was invited to training camp with Alaska's American Hockey League affiliate in Peoria before reporting to the Aces. He is second on the team and tied for fifth among ECHL rookies with 10 goals to go along with six assists on the season.

Both Talbot and Croxton were selected in voting by National Conference coaches, who submitted the top prospects within the 10-team conference to determine the final roster, with each team having at least one representative. The 15th Annual ECHL All-Star Game starters were chosen by National Conference coaches, team captains, media directors, broadcasters, and media members. In addition to the actual game on January 17, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. AST, the 10th Annual ECHL All-Star Skills Competition will be held at Qwest Arena in Boise on January 16 at 5:00 p.m. AST.

The Aces (16-8) will look to extend their season-high five-game winning streak tonight at 7:15 p.m. against the Steelheads, who have dropped seven of their last eight games to fall to 12-10-2. The series finale will be held tomorrow at 7:15 p.m. Both games at Sullivan Arena will be broadcast live on KFQD 750 AM. The Aces will wear their special holiday jerseys tomorrow, with a post-game auction scheduled for immediately after the series finale. Tickets are now available at the Aces office, www.alaskaaces.com, and all Fred Meyer locations in Anchorage.
