MLS Announces 2019 Philadelphia Union Home Opener

CHESTER, Pa. - Major League Soccer today announced that Philadelphia Union will host Toronto FC in the club's 2019 home opener. The match takes place on Saturday, March 2, and is the Union's first match of the overall 2019 season, as the club begins the campaign at Talen Energy Stadium.

The match is set for a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff time. All local and national broadcast schedules will also be announced in the near future.

Union supporters can guarantee a seat in Talen Energy Stadium for the home opener against Toronto FC by purchasing a Holiday Home Opener Four Pack. The special offer includes four tickets to the match as well as a choice of either two scarves or two limited edition Andre Blake bobbleheads.

After the match against Toronto FC, the Union will travel to Children's Mercy Park to take on Sporting Kansas City in the second week of the MLS season. That match is the home opener for SKC and is set for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10.

Philadelphia is unbeaten over their last five home openers at Talen Energy Stadium (3-0-2), registering a 5-2-2 record overall in their all-time home-opening matches. The Union defeated the New England Revolution by a 2-0 final score in last season's home opener.
