
Jeremy Ebobisse Named to U.S. Men's National Team Roster for January Training Camp

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Timbers forward Jeremy Ebobisse has been called into camp with the U.S. Men's National Team for the team's annual January training camp from Jan. 6-Feb. 3, it was announced today. Players will report to the Olympic Training Center on Jan. 6, and the camp will include training in Chula Vista, Calif., Phoenix, Ariz., and San Jose, Calif., as well as friendlies against Panama on Sunday, Jan. 27 and Costa Rica on Saturday, Feb. 2.
Head coach Gregg Berhalter and the U.S. Men's National Team will open training camp at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., in preparation for the first two matches of the new year. The United States will kick off 2019 with its opening contest against Panama on Jan. 27 at State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, Ariz., beginning at 5 p.m. (Pacific). The match will be broadcast live on ESPN2. The United States will then travel to San Jose, Calif., to go up against Costa Rica on Feb. 2, at Avaya Stadium. Beginning at 12:30 p.m. (Pacific), the Feb. 2 match will be broadcast live on FOX.
Ebobisse, who receives his first call-up to the senior men's national team, previously represented the United States at the youth level. The Bethesda, Md., native was a member of the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team that won the 2017 Concacaf U-20 Championship, which in turn booked a qualifying spot for the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Korea Republic. Ebobisse tallied two goals in three appearances (1 start) for the United States in the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, including scoring in a 2-1 loss to Venezuela in the quarterfinals on June 4, 2017.
During the 2018 MLS regular season, Ebobisse made nine appearances (5 starts), playing 449 minutes and registering two goals and two assists, also making six appearances (6 starts) in the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs, where he registered one goal and one assist. In his first season with the Timbers in 2017, Ebobisse made 14 appearances (2 starts) tallying a goal and three assists.
