
Mississippi Falls to Fourth

Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release
BILOXI, Miss. â The Mississippi Sea Wolves dropped three straight games last week, each by one goal, and are positioned in fourth place in the ECHL's Central Division.
On Tuesday, the Sea Wolves fell 4-3 at Pensacola. Mississippi returned home on Thursday, and lost to Columbus, 2-1. Sea Wolves concluded the week by returning to Pensacola and coming up on the short end of a 3-2 score on Sunday.
After 20 games, the Sea Wolves have 20 points with an overall record of 8-8-4. Mississippi is one point behind the Pensacola Ice Pilots for third place, five back of the second place Louisiana IceGators and seven points off the Central Division pace, set by the Gwinnett Gladiators. The Sea Wolves are 4-1-3 at home, and have a 4-7-1 record on the road.
Mississippi hosts Pensacola on Friday, Texas on Saturday and travels to Louisiana on Sunday.

Mississippi is 0-3-1 against Pensacola this season and 0-0-1 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The Ice Pilots have won all four head-to-head games. The contest marks the fifth of 14 in the season series.
Ice Pilots defenseman Corey Neilson leads Pensacola with eight points (1g-7a) against Mississippi. Jim Abbott is tops for the Ice Pilots with three goals, in which he scored in a hat trick performance on November 1, in Pensacola's 6-2 victory.
Sea Wolves center Louis Dumont has two goals and two assists against his former team, Pensacola this season. Brent Gauvreau has three assists to lead Mississippi in that department.
Mississippi is 38-18-4 all-time in the regular season against Pensacola. Sea Wolves are 21-6-3 all-time in the regular season at the Wolves Den.
Saturday, Dec. 6 vs. Texas Wildcatters â 7:35 p.m. CT â Mississippi Coast Coliseum
Mississippi leads the season series and all-time 2-0-0, with both games played at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. It's the third of 15 games in the battle for the Nextel Cup season series.
Sea Wolves blanked the Wildcatters 4-0 on November 23 at the Wolves Den. Mississippi's Greg Gardner made 32 saves to earn his first shutout of the season.
Sea Wolves' Sergei Kuznetsov (2g-2a) and Jeff Hutchins (1g-3a) are leading Mississippi against Texas with four points each.
Wildcatters' Bob Cunningham (1g-1a) and Tony Lawrence (2a) are the top point producers for Texas against the Sea Wolves.
The first-ever visit for Mississippi at Ford Arena in Beaumont, Texas is on December 19.
Sunday, Dec. 7 at Louisiana IceGators â 4:05 p.m. CT â Cajundome, Lafayette, La.
Mississippi is 0-1-2 against Louisiana this season and 0-1-0 at the Cajundome this season. Louisiana has won all three head-to-head games. The game marks the fourth of 14 in the season series.
IceGators topped the Sea Wolves in the last meeting between the teams, 3-2 in the shootout on November 7 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
Louisiana took the last head-to-head game at the Cajundome on October 18, by a score of 2-1.
The Sea Wolves top point producer in the head-to-head games has been Jim Baxter (4a). Steffon Walby and Jeff Hutchins each have two goals in the games against Louisiana.
Leading Louisiana offensively in the season series are Kenny Corupe (3a), Ben Storey (1g-2a), and Josh Mizerek (3a). Goaltender Derek Gustafson had backstopped the IceGators to a pair of victories, while Frederic Cloutier was between the pipes in the season opening 3-2 shootout win for Louisiana at Mississippi on October 17.
Mississippi is 26-25-6 all-time in the regular season against Louisiana. Sea Wolves are 10-15-3 all-time in the regular season at the Cajundome.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK â Louis Dumont collected points in each of the three games last week highlighted by becoming the all-time ECHL scoring leader. On Tuesday, the 30-year-old picked up an assist at Pensacola. Dumont registered his record-breaking 690th career ECHL point, by scoring on Thursday against Columbus. The 5-foot-10 and 180-pound Dumont finished the week at Pensacola by netting his 11th goal of the year on Sunday. He has a seven-game point streak (6g-4a) intact. Overall, Dumont has 11 goals and 21 points, and a +8 rating in 20 games.
GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK â Greg Gardner appeared in all three games last week, making a total of 107 saves on 116 shots for a .922 save percentage. The 6-foot and 190-pound Gardner has an overall record of 7-6-3, 2.78 goals against average and .914 save percentage.
