
Condors Suffere Setback in Two Games

Saturday, November 29th
The Condors hosted their fifth annual Teddy Bear Toss in front of a season high 7,231 fans on Saturday night in a 4-1 loss against the Alaska Aces. For the second season in a row, LW Paul Rosebush scored the goal initiating the Teddy Bear Toss, bringing in thousands of stuffed animals for donation to the United Way of Kern County. Bakersfield trailed at the time 2-0, but could get no closer. Alaska scored a pair in the third to pull away and take the win, despite being outshot 30-19. Peter Hirsch took the loss in net for the Condors.
Sunday, November 30th
Bakersfield traveled to San Diego for the first time all season, but were sent home with a 4-2 loss to the Gulls. The Condors led in shots the entire night, and finished with 39 in the game, but were kept to just a pair of goals â by Johan Astrom and Paul Willett â by rookie goaltender David Burleigh. With the loss, the Gulls moved to a four-point lead over Bakersfield for fourth place in the Pacific Division.
This week
The Condors return home on Friday, December 5th to take on the Fresno Falcons at 7:00pm. The first 2,000 fans 12 and under will receive a Condors Backpack, sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and Wm. K. Lyons Insurance. It's the only game of the week for the Condors, whose next four matches are all on home ice.
The Condors Coach's Show can be heard on KGEO AM 1230 each and every Thursday, live from the Holiday Inn Select next to Centennial Garden from 6:00-7:00pm. This week's guests include G Peter Hirsch and as well as the regular visit from Head Coach Paul Kelly.
Individual seats are on sale now, and may be purchased through the Centennial Garden box office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location.
Notes from the Nest
· The Condors power play had connected in five straight games before being shutout in four opportunities on Sunday. It had scored nine times during the stretch, compared to just six even strength goals during that time.
· Paul Rosebush also had his five game scoring streak snapped on Sunday. He recorded four goals and six points in the streak.
· Paul Willett recorded his first goal of the season on Sunday since returning to the lineup. He has 1g-1a in six games.
· Andrew Ianiero has 4g-4a-8pts in nine games since joining the team on November 7th.
· Bakersfield has scored just one first period goal on the road this season (eight games).
